"I am so grateful you agreed to travel so far and photograph Erin and Esteban's wedding. We really enjoyed meeting you and Vickie. So many people have commented on how wonderful the photos are, I wish you could hear all the compliments. I am trying to talk two of my friends who have kids getting married later this year to consider using your services. I am so pleased with the photos so far, you have somehow managed to capture the spirit of the people I love so much, and the special joy of this wedding will live forever - thanks to you. I was amazed at your flawless skill (how can someone be everywhere and invisible at the same time?). I'd like to gush on and on, but I just hope you know how much we will always treasure your incredible images of all our family and friends on this very special day."

We know - Hiring a photographer to travel hundreds of miles to your wedding is not a common thing. Then again, we’re not the most common photographer. Factors such as photo style, local photographer availability and budget will play into your decision. As you decide on how your photos will be taken, we want you to know that we’ve taken care of the traveling. In addition to capturing great moments, our goal is to serve you as well as any local photographer.

Here's a few commonly asked questions about traveling with our answers below. Please let us know of any other questions you have.

How can you be sure to do a top notch job across the miles?
Through detailed preparation and good communication. Our goal is to work so well with you and your families, that no one will know we’re from out of town. We ship information out quickly and send most products via reliable carriers. We're just a quick e-mail away or, with our toll free 800 number, client/studio contacts can be handled over the phone. Once we’re in town, we take the time to visit your wedding and reception locations beforehand and attend your rehearsal to meet you, find out the details of your ceremony and see who the important people are (your family and friends will be there). Of course, once we’re at your wedding, the story unfolding before our camera is what’s significant - not the miles we’ve traveled. We won’t leave until the story of your day is complete.

After the wedding, how will our images and prints be delivered to us?
In many cases, we use priority or second day air carriers to deliver CD image libraries and albums. Most of these are tracked. (However, in most cases you'll see your images on the internet several days before your shipment arrives.) All CD library, comp book and album shipment costs are included in our standard fee.

Since you'll be flying to reach my wedding, what happens if your flight is postponed or canceled?
We don’t like talking about this. We’ve never missed a wedding and don’t intend to. But history shows that flights are occasionally canceled. To address this possibility, we’ve made it a policy to always travel at least one day prior to the wedding day. This works great because we want to attend your rehearsal, anyway. And since I’ll see you at the rehearsal, you’ll rest assured knowing that we're in town and ready for the following day. In the unlikely event that a flight delay occurs, the extra day gives us the time needed to make other travel arrangements, (at our expense).

What happens if your luggage/equipment is lost en route?
This is not very likely. The majority of our equipment comes with us in a special camera cases designed to fit within carry-on baggage specifications, so they never leave our sight. Anything checked in is incidental and could easily be replaced, if need be. Any film we're carrying is also included in our carry-on luggage. And, although we've had a few delayed bags in the past, we've always had all our equipment by the time we're scheduled to arrive.

What will the travel fee cost?
A. We simply charge a flat travel fee based on your locaiton according to the following:

Are there any other hidden travel fees that aren't included?
No. We take care of everything. The fee is designed to cover our average expenses for airfare or mileage, two nights lodging and a rental car, if needed. If our actual costs go over the amount of your travel fee, we will cover them.

If we pay for your hotel room or other travel accomodations, will the fee be less?
We arrange most of our accomodations. If you'd like to help us with special room rates or discount airfare tickets, we'd be glad to see if they'd work out. If so, we'll adjust the travel fee to reflect the amount you've covered.

What’s the deal with sales tax 'subsidizing' the travel costs?
For weddings photographed outside of Missouri where the final products (CD libraries and/or albums) are shipped out of state, there is no sales tax. Depending on the size of your package and sales tax laws in your state, this sales tax exemption may make up for any additional travel fees. This is also contingent on whether or not your state requires you to pay a ‘use tax’ on items purchased out-of-state.
